CLAREMORE, Okla. – 18 current and former Rogers State Hillcat student-athletes were honored with various awards and recognition Friday evening in the annual Honor Graduates Awards Ceremony and Hooding Ceremony held on campus ahead of Saturday's graduation.
Three former Hillcats;
Grant Farris, Cody Gammill, and Malinda Moore, along with one current student-athlete;
Seth Gerardy, were honored at tonight's graduate hooding ceremony. Gerardy also earned the Master of Business Administration Outstanding Graduate honor.
Hillcat student athletes swept the Allied Health Science awards on Friday.
Sabrina Anguiano and
Sydney Murray claimed the outstanding graduate and distinguished graduate honors, respectively, for the Pre-Athletic training option.
In the Pre-Physical Therapy option,
Elexis Watson won the outstanding graduate honor, while
Maggie Brown and
Janell Hernandez swept the outstanding and distinguished graduate awards for the Pre-Occupational Therapy program, respectively.
Three Hillcats claimed honors in the department of business. Alex Wynn Simpson was named the outstanding graduate for Sport Management, Sport Business.
Jesus Ramirez and
Bria Salazar were both named distinguished graduates for Business Administration with Ramirez taking the Marketing honor and Salazar taking the Management honor.
Brielle Tyseling claimed the final School of Professional Studies graduate honor, as she was named the outstanding graduate for Justice Administration, Law/Justice.
In the School of Arts and Sciences, four Hillcats took home honors.
Lilly Garner claimed two awards, as she was named the distinguished graduate for Global Humanities. Garner also won the outstanding capstone honor for the Department of English and Humanities.
Mariana Flores also claimed an honor, as she was named the outstanding graduate for Social and Behavioral Science.
Two Hillcats claimed honors out of the Department of Communications. Alaina Orban received the outstanding capstone award for the department. Hanna Gray was also named the distinguished graduate for Communications: Broadcasting & New Media.
The final award of the night went to
Sarah Marshall, who was named the outstanding honors freshman for the School of Professional Studies.
The awards ceremony comes on the eve of Rogers State University's Graduate Commencement Ceremonies, which will be held Saturday in two sessions at 10 a.m. and 6 p.m.
