RSU Athletics History
RSU Hillcat athletics teams include baseball, softball, soccer, golf, basketball, cross country and track and field. RSU was approved for the NCAA Division II membership process in June of 2011 and is currently in the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association (MIAA). RSU teams have enjoyed success in many sports sponsored by our university. The athletics department at RSU was established in 2005, and was a member of the NAIA and the Sooner Athletic Conference until Spring 2013, when it moved to NCAA Division II and the Heartland Conference. RSU implemented 10 new athletic programs during the five-year span from 2005-2010. RSU joined the MIAA in 2019.
