CLAREMORE, Okla. – The Rogers State women's soccer team suffered a 1-0 loss to Lubbock Christian on Thursday night at Soldier Field.
The Chaps gained the 1-0 advantage in the first half when a pass from the RSU defense bounced directly to LCU's Haley Knesek, who put in the goal in the 11th minute of action. Knesek leads the Heartland Conference in tallies this season with 10.
RSU had an opportunity in the second half to even the score, but a header from
Kimberlin Bennett went just wide of the goal to keep the score 1-0. The Hillcats pushed numbers forward in the second half with four shots in the final 30 minutes of the game, including the Bennett header.
In the first period, LCU held an advantage of 10-2 in shots. The Hillcats attempts were limited due to six offsides calls as the Chaps defense played a high line. For the game, RSU was called offsides eight times. The second half saw LCU total an edge of 9-4 in shots. The Chaps finished with a 19-6 advantage in shots.
Making her second consecutive start of the season, Bennett totaled a game-high three shots.
Paige Pontarolo added two shots.
Tess Dominic put one shot on goal for RSU.

Tayler Stover finished the game with six saves with the one goal allowed.
