RoShon Jacobs

RoShon Jacobs begins his second season at Rogers State University as assistant men’s basketball coach on Justin Barkley’s staff after joining the Hillcats in August 2012.

Jacobs helped guide the Hillcats to their sixth-straight 20-win season in his first year on the Hill. He cames to RSU from Southeastern Louisiana University as he was serving as a graduate assistant for the men’s basketball program working alongside former Hillcat assistant coach Mike Cyprien. While working for the Lions he was pursuing a master’s degree in Criminal Justice. 

A 2008 graduate of Southern University in Baton Rouge, La. with a Criminal Justice degree, Jacobs played collegiately at Louisiana Monroe for both the basketball and football teams. In his freshman season with the Warhawks he earned Freshman All-Southland Conference in football and basketball. As a freshman wide receiver he totaled over 500 yards receiving for the ULM football team. In three years at ULM, Jacobs totaled 776 points as a guard for the Warhawk basketball team.

He served as captain of the ULM Basketball team from 2003-07 and Southern University football team in 2007.

Jacobs spent two years prior to his stop at Southeastern Louisiana playing professionally in Mexico, Estonia and Morocco.

He was named Who’s Who Among Students and earned Dean’s Honor Roll two semesters at ULM and three semesters at Southern University. Jacobs also served on the Southern University Athletic Council and University of Louisiana at Monroe Athletic Council while also affiliated with the Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity.

Jacobs has a son Xavier (4) and daughter Xariyah (1) and lives in Claremore.
