About Hillcat Community Engagement

The Rogers State athletic department takes an active role in the local community and has engaged in a number of community events. In 2013-14, the Hillcats participated in 17 community engagement initiatives including Read Across America, Children’s Advocacy Center Charity Basketball Game, Operation Christmas Child, Play4Kay, and Make-A-Wish Foundation.

NCAA Division II institutions have embraced a philosophy that positions athletics as the front porch to the community. By engaging the community in this way, the university, the athletics department and the local community all benefit. Through community engagement, all aspects of the institution can be showcased, allowing student-athletes, coaches and staff to build relationships with community members and developing the campus as a central location for events and social gatherings within the local area.

For more information on the community engagement initiative or how your organization can get involved contact: Assistant Athletic Director Sara Williams at (918) 343-7989 or
