Career

Koonce comes to RSU from Western Texas College where she played for coach Steve Kissel. As a sophomore, Koonce
had a record of 14-16 and registered a 3.81 ERA with 90 strikeouts in 178.1 innings pitched, helping lead WTC to the regional
tournament. She had a record of 7-8 as a freshman with a 3.88 ERA in 90 innings pitched, making the NJCAA All-Star game.
In high school, she was a first team all-district pitcher as a senior and second team all-district as a junior. Koonce said she
chose RSU because “I really liked the school, the coaches and the winning program with good people.”
