TULSA, Okla. — The Hillcat Men's Golf team opened play at the NSU Men's Classic at Page Belcher Golf Course on Monday, finishing the first day tied for ninth place with Arkansas-Monticello.
RSU collected a two-round tally of 581 (+13) after 36 holes, starting with a score of 295 (+11) before improving by nine strokes in the second round with a score of 286 (+2). Northeastern State (-14) leads the field, followed by Southern Arkansas (-10) and Northwestern Oklahoma State (-10), both tied for second.
Senior Dylan Ros leads the team with a two-round total of 143 (+1). The Westpunt, Aruba, native shot a 75 (+4) in the opening round and a solid 68 (-3) in the second round, finishing tied for 21st. Ros recorded eight birdies, including six in the second round, and added an eagle on the 10th hole.
Freshman Max Ricart, tied for 26th, finished the day with a score of 144 (+2), carding a 75 (+4) in round one and a 69 (-2) in round two. The Barcelona, Spain, native tallied eight birdies and an eagle on the 14th hole in round two.
Sophomore Miguel Mora ended the day tied for 33rd with a score of 143 (+3). Fellow sophomore Kobsak Phisitbuntoon finished tied for 49th with a tally of 149 (+7), while freshman Travis Weast concluded his first collegiate rounds tied for 68th with a card of 154 (+12).
Competing as individuals, sophomore Ben Field II and junior Callum Brown are tied for 49th with a score of 149 (+7). Freshman Lautaro Ortiz is in a tie for 65th with a two-round card of 153 (+11) after his first collegiate rounds.
Action from Tulsa will conclude tomorrow afternoon with the final round at 1:30 p.m.
