TOPEKA, Kan. – Rogers State indoor track and field continued the 2025-26 season Friday at the Washburn Rust Buster, highlighted by multiple personal best performances at the Washburn Indoor Athletic Facility.
On the women's side,
Amy Morefield delivered a stand-out performance, claiming a first-place victory in the mile with a time of 5:04.79. Rogers State had three runners place in the top seven.
Cadence Cordova finished sixth in the race in 5:11.92 and
Brooklyn Garafola followed closely with a personal-best time of 5:12.02 in seventh.
Kaylee Nay posted another personal-best effort with a time of 5:17.70 for a 12th-place finish.
In his first meet of the indoor season,
Nathaneal Gibson paced the men's team in the mile, recording a solid seventh-place finish with a time of 4:16.92.
Blake Feron placed 23rd with a time of 4:26.31, while
Jaxson Wheeler recorded a personal-best time of 4:26.93 for a 26th-place finish.
The men's events captured a series of personal-best performances beginning with
Isaac Conder, who finished ninth in the 400m with a solid 49.96.
Clint Stapleton followed in the 800m, crossing the line with a 2:00.16 to place 24th. Rounding out the men's performance,
Nathan Hernandez secured his personal-best in the 3000m, clocking a time of 8:50.33 for a 17th-place finish.
The women's 800m featured another strong performance as Sisley Mitchell placed sixth in the event with a time of 2:20.72, while
Isabel Bush and
Kendall Howell completed the event for the Hillcats.
The men will wrap up the weekend at the Coach Richard Alsup Open, inside Hughes Fieldhouse in Maryville, Missouri.
