Breakout Game from Jordan Jr. Helps Hillcats Bounce Back Against Harding

RSU claimed the game 88-61 on Saturday afternoon

SKIATOOK, Okla. — Rogers State men's basketball (1-1) wrapped up the GAC/MIAA Regional Challenge with an 88-61 win over Harding (0-2) at the Brooks Walton Activity Center. RSU led from start to finish, with a strong performance in the paint, scoring 44 points. They also excelled at the free-throw line, making 24 of 31 attempts. The Bison struggled offensively, shooting just 27.4% from the field.

Rogers State established early control in the opening half with an efficient offense, scoring repeatedly in the paint and on fast breaks. Tim Jordan Jr. initiated the scoring with a layup and continued to be a key contributor, finishing with several successful drives and a strong presence at the free-throw line. The Hillcats' defense effectively limited the Bison's field goal percentage, allowing the Hillcats to maintain the lead.

Benard Omooria and Caden Fry also contributed significantly, with Omooria sinking two 3-pointers and Fry adding a block that helped disrupt Harding's momentum. The visiting team capitalized on their opportunities at the charity stripe, converting 13 of their 16 attempts. RSU closed the first half leading 43-28, setting a solid foundation for the remainder of the game.

RSU opened the second half with a strong offensive push, highlighted by Caden Fry's free throws and Tim Jordan Jr.'s layup, extending the lead to 47-28. The visitors continued to apply pressure, with Jabryn Anderson contributing a fast-break layup and a pair of free throws, further widening the margin.

The Bison faced difficulty responding to the Hillcats' efficient scoring, as RSU maintained control with defensive stops and key turnovers. Benard Omooria added a 3-pointer, while Marlo Fox facilitated assists, keeping the momentum firmly on RSU's side.

RSU closed the half by capitalizing on free throw opportunities and a final 3-pointer from Aydan Perdue, finishing with a 45-point half. The game ended with RSU leading 88-61.

Jordan Jr. led the team with 17 points, shooting 7 of 9 from the field, and contributed eight rebounds. Omooria scored 11 points, including three 3-pointers, and collected five rebounds. Anderson finished with 15 points, making 8 of 10 free throws, and added five rebounds. Stephon Thomas made three steals and contributed three points.

Martez Burse led the Bison with 13 points, converting 7 of 8 free throws and collecting five rebounds. Reggie Webster added 11 points and made 5 of 7 free throws. Marko Rangan contributed with 10 points, hitting all four of his free throws and securing six rebounds. Wesley Booker was notable on defense, recording two blocks and two steals while grabbing seven rebounds.
