CLAREMORE, Okla. – No. 3 Rogers State softball (29-5, 13-1 MIAA) wrapped up the weekend with a doubleheader sweep of Lincoln (10-22, 2-12 MIAA) with scores of 10-0 and 9-1 on Saturday.

GAME 1 – RSU 10, LU 0 (5 innings)

In the first game of the day,
Sara Llamas-Howell and
Harley Culie put together the first-ever combined no-hitter in program history, the 10th total no-no and third this season. Llamas-Howell was perfect through 3.2 innings before an error by the second baseman allowed the Blue Tigers their first base runner of the game in the fourth inning.

The Hillcats got the scoring started early as they took a 1-0 lead in the first inning.
Bridgett Morales deposited a 3-1 pitch over the right center field wall for a solo blast.

They tacked on four more runs in the second inning to push out to a 5-0 lead. With the bases loaded,
Paxton Donaldson cleared them with a three RBI double to left center that brought in
Lana Gass,
Kaylee Lyon and
McKayla Carney. Later in the frame, Donaldson scored from third on a wild pitch.

RSU put up five final runs in the third inning to seal the 10-0 win.
Brooke Nauman drew a full count, bases loaded walk that plated Carney to start things. A wild pitch then allowed Lyon to score. Donaldson again came up big with a two RBI double to right that saw Nauman and
Mariah Belzer cross home.
Abbey Rogers capped off the inning with a sacrifice fly to right that plated Donaldson.

Llamas-Howell (14-3) earned the win with five strikeouts, with Culie coming in for the final inning and punching out one batter. Abby Pulliam (1-3) took the loss.

GAME 2 – RSU 9, LU 1 (5 innings)

The second game saw Lincoln come alive as they got on the board first with a run in the first inning to take their only lead of the day at 1-0. On a single to the outfield, the run scored from second on the throw in.

The Hillcats answered back in the second with three runs to take control of the game with a 3-1 lead.
Abbey Rogers launched the first pitch she saw with a leadoff homer to left.
McKayla Carney hit a triple to right and then scored on a throwing error by the right fielder.
Kaylee Lyon got in on the home run fun with a solo shot to straightaway center.

RSU added another run in the fourth to push out to a 4-1 lead after
Lana Gass drove in
Brooke Nauman with a sacrifice fly to left.

They ended the game in the fifth with five runs to claim the 9-1 win.
Callie Yellin went yard on a 3-1 pitch, sending it careening over the center field wall for her 100th career hit and scored Rogers and
Bridgett Morales. After Carney doubled to left center, Lyon walked the game off with a two-run shot to center.

Jade Sanders (11-2) earned the win with a 4.0 inning start, only allowing the lone run on four hits with five strikeouts.
Harley Culie (3) earned her third save of the season throwing a perfect top of the fifth with two strikeouts. Mallorey Rogers (2-9) took the loss.

The Hillcats will close out the homestand on Tuesday, April 2 as they step out of MIAA play to host Oklahoma Christian in a non-conference twin bill. First pitch is set for 4 p.m.
