CLAREMORE, OKLA - Rogers State women's soccer (1-10-2, 0-5-2 MIAA) came up short against No. 16 Washburn (9-2-2, 6-0-1 MIAA) in a 4-0 decision on Sunday.

One of the bright spots was goalkeeper
Tiffany Brittan as she tallied eight saves, which is one shy of tying her season high with nine saves.

Washburn created several opportunities in the first half, as they outshot the Hillcats 14 to four, with six shots on goal to RSU's two. The Ichabods were aggressive from the jump and scored two goals in the first seven minutes. The first goal came in the fifth minute with the second coming under two minutes later. Shortly after,
Hope Jensen nearly cut the deficit in half when she took a shot on goal, but it was saved. Valarie Hernandez almost scored in the 31st minute but with the same result. The Hillcats went into the locker room trailing 2-0.

In the second half, the Ichabods outshot RSU 12 to two with eight shots on goal to one. In the 54th minute, Washburn scored its third goal of the afternoon. The Ichabods struck again in the 68th minute to go up 4-0. RSU's lone shot on goal came in the 81st minute when
Taylor Youniacutt sent the ball toward the lower left corner only for it to be saved.

RSU will return to the pitch on Friday, Oct. 25 as they travel to Wichita, Kan. to face off against Newman. Kickoff is set for 6 p.m.
