Box Score 2 CONROE, Texas – Rogers State softball (4-0) notched two more wins against Texas A&M International and St. Mary's on the second day of the Houston Classic on Sunday.

GAME ONE – RSU 6, TAMIU 0
Â
In the first game of the day, the Hillcats got the scoring started early with two runs in the first inning.
Jaylan Gibson double to right center for RSU's first hit of the game.
Makayla Bowman was hit by a pitch to put two runners of the bases.
Chelsea Spain brought them both in with a two RBI single center.
Â
The Hillcats added another run in the second to go up 3-0.
Rebecca Bell scored from third as Gibson was caught trying to steal second.

RSU extended their lead out to 4-0 in the fifth inning.
Jessica Watson singled to center to lead off the inning, and advanced to second on a sacrifice bunt from
Tailee Reding. She later scored from second on an
Elexis Watson RBI single up to middle.

In the sixth inning, the Hillcats capped off the game with two runs to claim the 6-0 victory.
Natalie Gonzalez scored on an
Alondra Natera RBI double down the left field line.
Marissa Smith brought Natera home with an RBI double to left center.

Abbey Beasley (1-0) earned the win with a complete game shutout with five strikeouts, four hits and three walks. Victoria Gonzalez (0-1) suffered the loss.

GAME TWO – RSU 5, STMU 1
Â
Both pitching staffs threw two shutout frames to start the second game of the day. Both
Jaylan Gibson and
Elexis Watson singled in the first inning, but left stranded.
Â
Gibson finally broke the seal in the third inning as she launched her first home run of the season over the left field wall to put the Hillcats up 1-0.
Â
RSU added two more runs in the fourth inning to go up 3-0.
Kimberli Presnell plated
Chelsea Spain and
Callie Yellin with a double down the right field line.
Â
They continued to build their lead in the fifth inning adding two more runs to go up 5-0.
Rebecca Bell scored on an RBI double to right field from Watson.
Makayla Bowman came home on a fielder's choice.

St. Mary's finally scored in the bottom of the fifth to cut the lead to 5-1 on a RBI double to center.

Andrea Morales (2-0) earned her second complete game with seven strikeouts, five hits, a walk and one earned run. Jadyn Abrego (0-2) took the loss.

The Hillcats will wrap up the Houston Classic with two more games tomorrow against Angelo State and Texas Woman's. The two games set to start at 9 a.m. and 11 a.m.
