CLAREMORE, Okla. – 
Alex Brake threw a five inning no-hitter in a 10-0 win over Fort Hays State and the Hillcats hit three late home runs against Oklahoma Baptist to win, 5-3, and take two games on Thursday (Feb. 15) at the Diamond Sports Complex.
 
RSU 10, FHSU 0
 
Brake, a senior from Joplin, Mo., only faced 17 batters and totaled three strikeouts, 11 fly outs and one groundout to get the five-inning shutout. She only allowed one walk and had another baserunner reach on an error.
 
The Hillcats (8-4) used a six-run second inning to cruise to the 10-0 win over the Tigers. After two runs in the first inning, RSU gained a 4-0 advantage on freshman 
Rylee DeLozier's first career home run, a two-run shot to left field. The navy and red added two more runs in the inning on a 
Allie McFetridge single to left, and back-to-back walks with the bases loaded made it 8-0 after two innings.
 
McFetridge struck again in the third inning with an RBI single to center, and 
Katy Taylor doubled to centerfield to make it 10-0 in the fourth inning.
 
McFetridge finished 2-for-3 at the plate with four RBI. 
Taylor Santistevan was 2-for-3 with one RBI.
 
RSU 5, OBU 3
 
After falling behind 3-1 against the Bison, the Hillcats knocked out three home runs in four at bats in the sixth inning to come out with a 5-3 victory over OBU in the second game today.
 
Freshman 
Tailee Reding opened the home run derby with a solo shot to centerfield for a 3-2 deficit. 
Danelle Day registered a solo homer to left to even the score at 3-3. McFetridge nearly made it three home runs in a row, but her shot went off the wall in dead center for a single. Santistevan belted out the game-winning two-run home run to left for the 5-3 victory.
 
OBU gained an early 2-0 edge in the third on a single through the infield for a 2-0 score.
 
Freshman 
Merissa Smith got the Cats on the scoreboard with a solo home run to left center in the fourth inning.
 
The Bison added one more run in the fifth inning for the 3-1 margin before the navy and red rallied late.
 
McFetridge went 2-for-3 at the plate, and Santistevan was 1-for-2 with two RBI.
 
Andrea Morales came in for relief and earned the win, going 2.1 innings with only one hit allowed. Reding got the final out for the save. She started in the circle and went 4.1 innings with six hits and one earned run.  
 
The Hillcats travel to Hays, Kan. for four games on Saturday and Sunday (Feb. 17-18). RSU starts with Nebraska Kearney at 10 a.m. and Washburn at 2 p.m. on Saturday at the Bickle-Schmidt Sports Complex Field 4. The Cats play Upper Iowa and host FHSU on Sunday at 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. at the FHSU Softball Stadium. Live stats will be available for all four games.
