Women's Soccer Shutout by Mountaineers, 4-0

DENVER, Colo. – The Rogers State women's soccer team stumbled in its opening game of a road trip to Colorado as Western State Colorado University claimed a 4-0 victory Sunday at Regis Match Pitch on the campus of Regis University.
 
For the second time in as many games this season, the Hillcats fell behind early as the Mountaineers' Jessica Kresl scored the eventual game winner in the 19th minute. Francesca Rand added to the lead less than nine minutes later for a 2-0 advantage heading into halftime.
 
Western State (2-0 overall) tallied a pair of insurance goals in the second half started by Nicole Giebler in the 68th minute before Rand closed the scoring netting her second of the match with 5:06 remaining.
 
Teri Cocke suffered the loss for the Hillcats between the posts allowing all four goals while turning aside seven shots. Meghan Jedrzejewski picked up the shutout for the Mountaineers making one save. RSU was outshot on the day by a 17-6 margin, including 11-1 in shots on goal.
