BETHANY, Okla. – The Rogers State women's soccer team allowed a pair of first-half goals and could not recover suffering a 2-0 loss in the season opener at Southern Nazarene Thursday at Wes Harmon Field.
In their first game under Head Coach Heather Cato, the Hillcats could not overcome a slow start and managed only one shot on goal while SNU posted six shots on frame.

SNU continued to pressure the Hillcat defense firing 15 shots in the opening half and connected for its second goal of the night in the 41st minute. Mallary Pineda took a pass from Bekah Stewart and netted her first goal of the season completing a three-point night.
The Hillcats could not dent the scoreboard despite generating chances and pushing the attack forward late in the match.
Cocke finished with four saves in the loss while Natasha Fuentes earned the shutout victory making one save.
RSU continues its season-opening, three-game road trip traveling to Denver, Colorado to face Western State Colorado Sunday morning at 11 a.m.
