Hillcats Drop 85-78 Decision to Crimson Storm Saturday

BETHANY, Okla. – The Rogers State women fell 85-78 to Southern Nazarene inside the Sawyer Center Saturday afternoon despite a 25 point output by Katy Harsen.

RSU led by 13 points off a pair of free throws by Breanna Burford with 10:20 remaining. But the Crimson Storm wouldn't go quietly as SNU outscored the Hillcats 17-4 over the next 6:20 of action for the fifth tie of the game at 72-72.

The largest lead for the Crimson Storm came with 32 seconds remaining as Kristin Milster hit a pair of free throws, two of the 26 made by SNU on the night, to stretch the score to 82-74.

Coach Roxanne Long's squad held the halftime advantage at 45-43. The Hillcats built an early 20-10 lead in the opening five minutes of the contest.

Burford finished the game with a career high 15 points while Harsen totaled a game high 25 points in the defeat on 11-of-19 shooting. RSU shot 60 percent on free throws with just 15 trips to the line. Clarissa Cannon battled foul trouble but finished with 10 points to reach double figure scoring for the fourth consecutive game.

SNU (4-5) made 26-of-33 from the charity stripe for nearly 80 percent shooting while knocking down nine 3-pointers for the night. Milster led the Crimson Storm with 24 points as two others reached double-digits in the point ledger.
