SAN ANTONIO, Texas - The Rogers State women's soccer team fell 4-0 on Monday afternoon in Heartland Conference action against St. Mary's.
The teams battled to a scoreless draw in the first stanza but the Hillcat crumbled in the second half, allowing the Rattlers to score four unanswered goals. Krystal Williams scored the go-ahead goal in the 50th minute as she blasted the ball top-self from 10-yards out. With the goal, StMU took control of the game.
Sam Lara doubled the Rattlers lead in the 66th minute, firing the ball in the goal upper 90 from inside the box. Leah Snelson made it a 3-0 game as she beat two defenders and fired the ball past the keeper upper 90, backside.
Jayme Coronado sealed the win with the final goal in the last minute of the game. The Rattlers put 16 shots on frame as senior goalkeeper Jordan Harris made 10 saves for RSU while allowing three goals. Freshman Teri Cocke rounded out the final seven minute in goal for RSU, making two saves while allowing one goal.
StMU goalkeeper Alyssa Taramona tallied the shutout win in the net, making one save.
Rogers State (1-7, 0-2 HC) returns to action in Claremore on Saturday as the Hillcats host St. Edward's at 7:30 p.m. The game will be stream live on the Hillcat Network at www.rsuhillcats.com/live.
