Hillcats Fall to No. 15 OCU, 3-0

CLAREMORE, Okla. - No. 15 Oklahoma City University proved to be too much for the Rogers State women's soccer team as the Stars registered a 3-0 win on Friday afternoon at Soldier Field.

The Stars earned a 1-0 lead on an own goal by RSU. The Stars fired a corner kick into the box and Lauren Haymans headed it towards the goal where it was misplayed into the goal by the RSU defense.

Freshman Allie Glazner gave the Stars a 2-0 lead with 10 minutes to play in the opening half. The Edmond, Okla. native curved a corner kick into the net on the near post.

The Hillcats managed one shot on goal in the opening half and OCU took a 2-0 advantage into intermission.

Jordan Beasley fired a cross into the box in the 51st minute but the Cats were unable to capitalize.

Three minutes later, OCU goalkeeper Ashley Bechtold was forced to make a key save as Jessica Turner volleyed the ball from the penalty kick spot off a Veronica Subu corner kick.

Brenna Skillern put the game away in the 64th minute as she blasted the ball near post from 25 yards out off a free kick.

Jordan Harris was tagged with the loss in goal for the Hillcats. The freshman made two saves and allowed three goals. Sophomore Chelsea McMullin played the final five minutes of the first half and made one save.
