Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Lions Slip Past Hillcats, 1-0

CLAREMORE, Okla. - The Rogers State women's soccer team fell short on Saturday afternoon as Lindenwood University registered a 1-0 win at Soldier Field.

The lone goal in the game came in the 52nd minute of play. Bailey Cody got past the RSU defense and slotted the ball past goalkeeper Chelsea McMullin to give the Lions the advantage.

RSU had several scoring chances in the opening half. The Hillcats best opportunity came in the 27th minute of play. Junior Lauren Hager broke through the defense and found herself one on one with the goalkeeper but Erin Sage came sliding in to make the save and keep the Hillcats scoreless.

The contest was scoreless at intermission. RSU registered five shots on goal in the opening half while the Lions managed two shots.

The Hillcats managed just one shot on goal in the second stanza. With one minute remaining in the game freshman Jordan Beasley fired a shot on frame but was unable to earn the equalizer.

McMullin recorded the loss in goal for the Hillcats as she made four saves and allowed one goal.

Rogers State (5-3-2, 2-2) returns to Sooner Athletic Conference action on Tuesday as they host Oklahoma Christian at Soldier Field. Kickoff is tabbed for 5 p.m. and the game will be broadcast live at www.rsuhillcats.com/live.
