BETHANY, Okla. - The Rogers State softball team lost a pair of one-run games to Southern Nazarene Monday afternoon in Bethany, Okla.

The Crimson Storm broke free from a tie score in the late innings of both contests to record the sweep. SNU posted a 5-4 win in the opener and notched a 7-6 extra-inning victory in the nightcap.
GAME ONE
Â
Katie Bointy and Shelby Brogdon homered for the Hillcats, but the Crimson Storm dealt the final blow to take game one.

SNU took a 3-1 lead with three runs in the bottom of the third inning. RSU answered with a run in the fourth and two in the fifth to tie the game. However, the Crimson Storm pushed the winning run across in the bottom of the fifth inning and kept the Cats off the scoreboard the rest of the way.

Kaci Crawford (11-4) earned the complete game victory while Tye Coats took the loss for RSU. Junior Sarah Harvey tallied two of the Hillcats eight hits.
GAME TWO

A seventh-inning rally put the Cats in position to salvage a split. RSU scored three runs in the top of the seventh to stake claim to a 5-4 lead. However, the Storm answered with a run in the bottom of the seventh and plated two runs in the eighth to complete the two-game sweep.

Coats (15-5) suffered her second straight loss after giving up seven runs on 13 hits. Jordan Simmons (9-2) picked up the win with a complete-gamer performance for the Storm. Harvey, Brogdon and Brittany White posted two hits apiece for RSU.

Rogers State (22-8, 8-4) looks to bounce back with a doubleheader Tuesday afternoon against Oklahoma Christian in Edmond. Southern Nazarene (21-6, 8-1) moved into first place in the Sooner Athletic Conference standings with the victories.
