No. 4 Lady Bison Bounce Hillcats, 75-50

SHAWNEE, Okla. - A dismal second half doomed Rogers State Thursday night as fourth-ranked Oklahoma Baptist cruised to a 75-50 victory at the Noble Complex in Shawnee.

The Hillcats were held to just six field goals in the second stanza while the Lady Bison caught fire from all over the floor. The Bison shot 63 percent after intermission to post their 12th consecutive home win. Reigning Sooner Athletic Conference Player of the Year Taujhnae Travis led all scorers with 19 points.

RSU jumped out to an 8-4 lead on a transition layup by Jenny Hardin. The senior played at less than 100 percent due to a nagging injury and didn't score another point the rest of the night. Amy Pryor and Val Siemens dropped in a pair of treys for OBU and the Bison took the lead for good at the 13:10 mark of the first half.

Hunter Peterson kept the Cats close for a while with eight first half points. The junior guard was the only RSU player to reach double figures with 10 points.

The Lady Bison led by 10 at the half and quickly grew the margin to 20. Ashley Harrell buried a 3-pointer from the corner to make it 53-32 with 12:50. Harrell and Amy Pryor finished with 10 points apiece while Siemens added 11.

Yoda Woods contributed nine points for the Hillcats and Logan Froese added a game-high nine rebounds. RSU shot a season-low 27 percent from the field and committed 20 turnovers.

Rogers State (16-8, 8-8) suffered its fourth straight loss and remains in sixth place in the conference standings. The Hillcats will return home Saturday to face St. Gregory's at the Claremore Expo. Tip-off is scheduled for 6 p.m. and the first 500 fans will receive a free mini basketball courtesy of Pelco Structural.

The game will be carried live on RSU Public Television and RSU Radio 91.3 FM.
