CLAREMORE, Okla. - Roger State midfielder T.J. Martin scored in the 82nd minute to even the score en route to a 1-1 double-overtime draw with Lubbock Christian at Soldier Field on Thursday evening.
The two teams combined for seven shots in the opening half and went into intermission tied at zero.
The Chaps struck first in the 68th minute with a goal by Adam Goodnight. Tristan Long dribbled down to line and crossed the ball into the box for Goodnight, who drilled the ball into the net.
The Hillcats answered in the 82nd minute as T.J. Martin scored his fifth goal of the year. Byran Jones crossed the ball into the box, LCU goalkeeper Hunter Ganze got his finger tips on the ball but it slipped past him to Martin who finished the goal to tie the score.
Both teams managed seven shots on frame. RSU goalkeeper Sean Surridge made six saves while allowing one goal in 110 minutes.
The Hillcats (10-3-2, 4-2-1) will travel to Chickasha, Okla. on Saturday, Oct. 21 as they take on the University of Science and Arts at 4 p.m.
