EDMOND, Okla. - The Rogers State women were unable to overcome 27 turnovers and a school record 31 fouls as they were defeated by No. 24 Oklahoma Christian inside the Eagles Nest in Edmond, 70-57.
After a fourteen minute delay to the start of the game due to transportation problems the Hillcats were able to get the early lead. But the Lady Eagles were able to build a 15-3 run on the Hillcats midway through the first half.
The Lady Eagles held an eleven point lead at the half as the Hillcats struggled from behind the arc shooting 17-percent; with the only three coming from Effanesia Baker before the half time horn.
The Hillcats finished the game shooting 36-percent from long range while Oklahoma Christian knocked down 57-percent from three-point land. A school record 31 fouls by the Hillcats was substantial as the Lady Eagles shot 45 free throws knocking down 58-percent.
Senior Jenny Hardin led Rogers State in scoring with 15 points while freshman Logan Froese tallied 10 points. Candice Stewart pulled down nine rebounds for the Hillcats who out rebounded the Lady Eagles in the game by two.
Leading Oklahoma Christian in scoring was Lisa Chenoweth with 23 points tallying 14 of those in the second half. Kailan DeCamp added 10 points for the Lady Eagles in 33 minutes of play.
