Biography

About: Stewart started in 24 games last year for the Hillcats. She led the Cats in steals and ranked second in blocks en route to winning the RSU Defensive Player of the Year award for the 2009-10 season. Stewart joined RSU by way of Delaware State University. She helped DSU to a second-place conference finish by averaging five points and three rebounds in 22 minutes of playing time per game in 2008-09. Stewart was a four-year starter at Great Bridge High School where she averaged 16 points as a senior. She said she chose RSU because “of the highly motivated coaching staff and the major potential the team has to do great things.”

Williams on Stewart: “The intensity that Candice brings to practice each day fuels this team. She has matured as a player and is very focused heading into her senior season.”
