It was the first loss since Dec. 4, 2008, for the RSU women who had posted a program-best seven consecutive wins entering Saturday night's contest. The Hillcats fell to 0-3 all-time against OBU.
RSU trailed 11-7, seven minutes into the game before the Lady Bison ripped off an 11-0 run. Azzie Knox stopped the streak with a jumper in the lane but the Cats couldn't keep up with OBU's scoring pace. Taujhnae Travis poured in 15 first half points to give the Bison a 38-24 advantage at the break. OBU went 14-for-15 from the free throw line in the first half while RSU had just four free throw attempts.

The shooting woes continued for the Cats in the second half as they shot just 10-for-29 from the floor. OBU countered with an even 50 percent shooting effort to pull away for a 24-point win. Knox led RSU in scoring despite being plagued with foul trouble for much of the night. She finished with 12 points and six rebounds. Katie Rice added 10 points and six boards and Autumn Thompson dished out a game-high six assists.
