ALVA, Okla. - Three first half goals propelled Rogers State to its first conference win of the season as the Hillcats topped Northwestern Okla. State, 4-2, in Alva, Okla., Thursday.

Freshman Whitnie Ginn scored her first goal of the season off a corner kick from Kendall Clement one minute into the match. Emily Givan followed with her team-leading tenth goal in the 20th minute. Sophomore Tiffany Roberts added the final two goals for the Hillcats.

RSU held the Lady Rangers scoreless until the 72nd minute when Kayla Meloni found the back of the net off a direct kick. Roberts answered with her second goal of the match less than four minutes later. Northwestern tallied its second and final goal with 73 seconds remaining in the contest.

Sophomore goalie Bailey Lynn earned the victory with four saves in 85 minutes of duty. The Hillcats posted 17 shots on goal compared to the Rangers six.

Rogers State (5-1, 1-0) returns home Saturday afternoon to face Friends University (Wichita, Kan.) at Soldier Field. The women's match is scheduled for 2 p.m.
