CLARKSVILLE, Ark. - The University of the Ozarks scored three times in the bottom of the seventh to claim a 10-7 win over Rogers State Tuesday in Clarksville, Ark.
The Hillcats gained a 6-4 lead with a five-run fifth inning and then tied it at 7-7 with a run in the seventh before coming up short. The Eagles touched reliever Ryan White for three runs in the home half of the seventh as Brad Broussard, Todd Koch and John Glenn delivered three straight singles to start the at-bat. Logan Kizer and David Smith followed with RBI singles off Brett Trzcinski and Ozarks held on for the 10-7 win.

RSU fell behind early after Ozarks' Robby Finnell belted a three-run homer off Chris Graves in the bottom of the first inning. The Cats clawed back with five runs on five hits in the top of the fifth. Ryan Littlejohn singled to start the at-bat and scored on a single by Greg Speed. Blake Kelley picked up an RBI double and Joe Faircloth capped the rally with a two-run double.

The Eagles answered right back as Koch took Graves deep to tie the game at 6-6 in the bottom of the fifth. Bruce Cameron put Ozarks back on top with an RBI double in the bottom of the sixth. Littlejohn retied the game with a sacrifice fly in the seventh but the Hillcats couldn't muster another run.

The Eagles used seven pitchers in the contest to improve to 31-9 on the season. Cameron tossed two scoreless innings to shut the door on the Hillcats in the eighth and ninth. White (0-2) suffered the loss for RSU after giving up four runs on five hits. Faircloth went 2-for-4 with three RBI while Littlejohn added two hits.

Rogers State (31-14, 16-11) completed the non-conference portion of its schedule and will close out the regular season this weekend against Oklahoma Christian. RSU will honor its five seniors Thursday night in their final home game at the Hillcat Complex. Game time has been moved to 7 p.m. and the game can be heard live on RSU Radio 91.3 FM.
