CLAREMORE, Okla. - Rogers State produced 26 runs in just 10 at-bats as the Hillcats run-ruled Hillsdale Baptist in a pair of games at the Hillcat Complex Thursday.

RSU scored eight times in the first inning of the opener en route to a 14-0 win. Eight different Cats tallied hits in the nightcap as Coach Ron Bradley's club cruised to a 12-2 victory. The Hillcats stretched their winning streak to eight games with the doubleheader sweep over the Saints.
GAME ONE

The Hillcats sent 13 hitters to the plate in the bottom of the first inning and posted eight runs on five hits in the frame. The Saints committed three errors in the inning, leading to three unearned runs. RSU added three runs in the second as Joe Faircloth ripped an RBI double and Steven Fields followed with his first home run of the season, a shot over the scoreboard in left-center.

Fields capped the scoring barrage with an RBI double in the fourth and finished the game 3-for-3 with four RBI. Faircloth went 2-for-3 with an RBI and two runs scored.

Junior Tyler Whitaker (4-2) picked up his fourth win with four scoreless innings of work. He allowed just two hits and struck out two without allowing a walk. Shawn Epps made his first appearance in nearly a month and looked sharp while fanning three Saints in the fifth to close the game.
GAME TWO

RSU trailed 1-0 before rallying for five runs in the third inning. The first five batters of the frame reached base and eventually scored. Tyler Henderson started the at-bat with a single to left and Greg Speed followed with a walk. Ryan Littlejohn picked up an RBI and reached base on an error by the shortstop and Blake Kelley and Zach Hamby belted back-to-back RBI singles to left field. Coby Wright capped the rally with a run-scoring groundout to push the lead to 5-1.

The Cats scored one run in the fourth and four in the fifth to take a 10-2 lead. Travis Harold and Brandon Denton singled in the sixth and Greg Speed delivered the knockout punch with a one-out single to right-center to halt the game via the run-rule. Henderson paced the Hillcats with two hits and was joined by Speed and Littlejohn with two RBI.

Freshman Joe Hardzog (1-0) earned his first collegiate victory with two innings out of the bullpen. Hardzog allowed one run on two hits with one strikeout. D.J. Thompson and Ryan White each tossed a scoreless inning for the Hillcats behind Hardzog.

Rogers State (26-11, 13-10) improved to 13-1 in non-conference games on the season. The Hillcats will return to Sooner Athletic Conference action Sunday as they host No. 5 Oklahoma City in a makeup game at the Hillcat Complex. First pitch is slated for 2 p.m.
