CLAREMORE, Okla. - The Hillcat Complex will be the site of a Top 10 softball match-up Friday as No. 10 Rogers State welcomes No. 1 Lubbock Christian to Claremore.

The two highly touted programs will square-off in a doubleheader beginning at noon. It will mark the first ever meeting between Top 10 teams on the RSU campus. The Hillcats held steady at No. 10 in the latest national rankings released Wednesday. LCU made the jump to No. 1 after knocking off previously top-ranked California Baptist last week.

The Lady Chaps softball program is in its first season of competition and has ascended to the top of the NAIA ranks behind the arm Marissa Gonzalez. The senior transfer has already logged three no-hitters and has been named the Sooner Athletic Conference pitcher of the week four times. LCU is also hitting .437 as a team and has posted a 29-2 record.

The Hillcats are in midst of a 10-game winning streak and ran their record to 21-3 with two victories over USAO Wednesday. RSU is in its third year of softball competition under the direction of Head Coach Dawn Reed-Schultz. Sophomore sensation Kelli Dunagan has been the MVP for Hillcats through the first half of the season. Dunagan and junior transfer Jenny Johnson have combined to post the lowest earned run average in the country at 0.75. Dunagan's 0.49 ERA ranks seventh among all NAIA pitchers. The Collinsville native also leads the RSU offense with a .417 batting average and three home runs.

RSU currently sits atop the conference standings at 6-0. The Chaps trail by two games with a conference record of 4-2.
