Michael Moritz is in his second season as an assistant coach for the Rogers State women's soccer program.
Last year, Moritz helped the Women's Soccer program to it's second-straight 10-win season under first-year head coach Yolanda Thomas. Moritz helped guide five Hillcats to all-conference honors and two all-region selections.
Moritz joined RSU after serving as the head coach of the Union High School varsity boys soccer team. In his first season in 2016, Moritz led the Redskins to the 6A state title match and a 17-2 overall record. The Redskins posted a 13-5 record in 2017 in the second season under the guidance of Moritz. For his two seasons, he went 30-7 overall at Union.
He was also a key leader of the Oklahoma Energy Football Club East for three seasons in Tulsa and served as the Executive Director of the Left Foot Studio Foundation, which is built to serve youth soccer players with financial needs.
Before his time back in Tulsa, Moritz worked directly with the girls varsity program at Bishop Lynch High School in Dallas, Texas and guided the team to the 2015 Texas State Championship, the first state championship for the program in 24 years. He saw many players move on and play collegiate soccer at NCAA Division I schools such as Florida State, Texas, Missouri, Seton Hall, Tulsa and Illinois.
In his time in Dallas, Moritz was the Director of Coaching for Left Studio Soccer Club, an academy club affiliated with ECNL/DA clubs, and was a coach for the Solar Chelsea Soccer Club. He served as a head scout for Nike Elite Training for two years for Region 3.
Moritz played collegiately at NCAA Division I University of Central Arkansas (UCA). He was a two-time nominee for Student-Athlete of the Year and a four-year letterwinner. Moritz graduated from UCA with a bachelor degree in business administration – accounting in 2010.
A Tulsa native, Moritz was all-state in soccer and golf at Edison High School.
