Jordan Watson joined the Hillcat women’s soccer program as an assistant coach in 2022.
The native of London, England, was a former standout on the RSU men’s soccer team and currently ranks in the top 10 in every offensive category in the program's record book, including second all-time in minutes played with 5961. Notably, he is sixth in career points (51), seventh in career goals scored (18), tied for fourth in career game-winning goals (7), sixth in career assists (15), third in career shots (181) and fifth in career shots on goal (75).
Watson began his collegiate soccer journey in 2016, quickly establishing himself as a key player. He earned a spot on the Heartland All-Tournament Team during his freshman year.
In 2017, he was named to the All-Heartland Conference Third Team, finishing the season with three goals and two assists, including two game-winning goals, while logging 1,266 minutes on the pitch.
In 2018, he earned recognition on the Heartland Conference Commissioner’s Honor Roll. The 2019 season marked a standout year for Watson as he earned D2CCA All-Central Region Second Team honors and was named to the All-Great American Conference/MIAA Second Team, contributing six goals and six assists across 20 games.
During the 2020-21 season, Watson excelled amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, playing a pivotal role in helping his team secure both the GAC/MIAA Regular Season and Tournament Championships. He received the United Soccer Coaches Player of Distinction Award, finishing the season with four goals, including two penalty kicks and one assist in eight games.
Before starting his collegiate career, Watson played for Rushcroft Football Academy under head coach Brett Jones, a former RSU player. He tallied 13 goals and 15 assists at Rushcroft, earning the club Player of the Year award in 2015 and 2016. Additionally, he won the Essex College Cup with Rushcroft and played for Tottenham Hotspur FC and Brentford FC in London.
Watson resides in Claremore with his wife,
Melissa, who was a former player for the RSU Women’s Soccer program, and their son, Caspian.
