GREENSBORO, N.C. – Rogers State baseball reached another milestone in its historic 2026 season, checking in at ninth with 220 points in the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) Week 8 poll. This marks the program's highest-ever ranking in any NCAA Division II poll.
The Hillcats (30-5, 18-3 MIAA) are coming off a 2-1 series win against national runner-up Central Missouri, which was ranked No. 4 by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) and No. 7 by the ABCA at the time. After dropping the opening game of the series 13-1, RSU rebounded with a pair of 5-2 victories in games two and three, marking the first time the Hillcats have claimed a series against UCM. Additionally, the Hillcats secured the season series against in-state rival Central Oklahoma with a dominant 10-0 run-rule victory in eight innings last Tuesday at the RCB Bank Sports Complex.
Catawba remained at the top of this week's poll with 294 points, followed by defending national champion Tampa with 292 points. Also from the MIAA in the poll, Pittsburg State was ranked sixth, Central Missouri was 12th and Northwest Missouri State came in at 29th.
The Hillcats kick off the week with game two of the season series against Arkansas-Fort Smith this afternoon at 2 p.m. in Fort Smith.
