Hillcat Softball Checks In at No. 18 in NFCA National Poll

RSU dropped two spots from 16th in last week's rankings

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) released its weekly national poll on Tuesday, and the Hillcats were selected 18th with 122 points. RSU dropped two spots from last week's rankings.
 
Rogers State enters the week with a 15-5 record. Last time out, they swept a doubleheader against Missouri S&T on Wednesday, February 25, and finished 2-1 at the Top Gun Midwest College Classic in Shawnee, Kansas, on February 28. In their victory over Augustana, sophomore Raylin Morgan hit both a three-run homer and a grand slam, while junior Mariah Belzer added a two-run shot in the eighth inning for a walk-off win. Senior Harley Culie (7-3) achieved a massive milestone by recording her 300th career strikeout against the Vikings.
 
Cal State San Marcos maintained its position as the top-ranked team in the country. In the MIAA, Missouri Southern climbed to No. 4, Pittsburg State rose to No. 16, while Central Oklahoma dropped three spots to No. 17. Missouri Western is now also receiving votes.. RSU will return to action at the RCB Bank Sports Complex for a doubleheader against Texas Woman's on March 11 at 2 and 4 p.m. The game was pushed back a day due to the threat of inclement weather.
