Former Hillcat Golfer Aidan Gavey Qualifies for USGA Mid-Amateur Championship

RSU alum punched ticket on Aug. 26, while compete again in Arizona in September

FARMINGTON, Penn. - Former Rogers State Men's Golf player and 2022 graduate Aidan Gavey successfully qualified for the 2025 U.S. Mid-Amateur Championship following a strong performance on August 26 at the Nemacolin Woodlands Resort.

"I'm really happy for Aidan," commented head coach Steve Brown. "When he was here, he helped us win two conference championships, was an all-region selection and is probably one of the most consistent golfers I've ever seen. He's had a great summer, finishing in the top 25 in the Canadian amateur, and now this. Great results from a great player."

Gavey, a former All-MIAA First Team and GCAA PING All-Region Team selection, finished second in the qualifying round with a score of 70 (-2), just one stroke behind American Matthew Paradis. He recorded birdies on holes 2, 5, 10, 14 and 15. For complete results, visit 2025 U.S. Mid-Amateur Qualifying Event :: Qualifying Results.

The Canadian will compete against top amateurs at Troon Country Club and Troon North Golf Club in Scottsdale, Arizona, during the U.S. Mid-Amateur Championship on September 13-18.
