RSU Softball Sees Season Come To An End In Central Regional Championship

EDMOND, Okla. - Rogers State softball (39-15) saw their season come to an end in the NCAA Central Regional Championship against Central Oklahoma (49-8) in a 5-0 game on Saturday.

The Bronchos got on the board early with an RBI single to left, giving them the early 1-0 lead after a leadoff triple to start the game.

From there, the game turned into a pitchers' duel for the next three frames as the two starters combined to allow only one hit and leave three runners stranded.

UCO broke the game open in the fifth as they pushed across four runs to take a 5-0 lead. Three RBI singles brought in the runs.

The Hillcats' best opportunity to score came in the second inning as Kaylee Lyon led off the frame with a single to right center to break up the no-hitter. With one out, Callie Yellin almost put RSU in front with a towering shot to left that drifted just foul. She later earned the full count walk, but a strikeout and a fielder's choice ended the threat and the inning.

Terin Ritz (21-3) earned the win. Jade Sanders (16-8) took the loss.

The Hillcats finish the 2025 campaign making their fourth-straight appearance in the Central Regional Championship, and continue to be one of the most consistently successful teams in the MIAA and the Central Region.
