KANSAS CITY, Mo. – No. 8 Rogers State softball (12-3) completed the clean sweep of the Top Gun Midwest College Classic with wins over Southwest Baptist (6-9) and No. 5 Augustana (11-3) on Saturday.

GAME 1 – RSU 15, SBU 3 (5 Innings)

The Bearcats got on the board first with an early 2-0 lead in the day's first game. The first run came in on a passed ball with the other run scoring on a sacrifice bunt.

The Hillcats responded promptly in the home half of the frame with five runs to jump ahead 5-2.
Callie Yellin got things started as she drove in
McKayla Carney with a sacrifice fly to center.
Savannah Evans later blasted a grand slam to straightaway center, bringing in
Mariah Belzer,
Bridgett Morales and
Abbey Rogers.

In the second inning, RSU exploded for six more runs to go up 11-2.
Kaylee Lyon launched a two-run homer to center, scoring
Karlee Smith. Later in the inning, Belzer got in on the home run fun with a grand slam of her own to right center, plating Yellin, Morales and Rogers.

They tacked on four final runs in the third inning to stretch the advantage out to 15-2. Morales drove in Carney with a single up the middle. Yellin doubled to left center, bringing in Rogers. A Belzer single to right allowed Morales to cross home.

SBU got one run back in the fourth off a solo home run to set the final score at 15-3.

Torie Sandoval (4-1) earned the win with a 4.0 inning start, only allowing two earned runs on four hits with two strikeouts.
Jensyn Elder was also solid in 1.0 inning of relief work, scattering one hit. Shalie Wooden (3-3) took the loss.

GAME 2 – RSU 4, AU 2 (8 Innings)

In a rematch of last year's Super Regional Championship, the Vikings scored first with an early 2-0 lead in the first inning. A two RBI single to center scored the runs.

From there, the game devolved into a classic pitcher's duel over the next four innings with both starters combining to scatter five hits and leave eight runners stranded.

The Hillcats finally got on the board in the sixth inning as they tied the game at 2-2.
Abbey Rogers led off the frame with a solo shot to center field. Chole Bohuslavicky later drove in
Karlee Smith with a sacrifice fly to right.

With the game headed to extra innings, Rogers reached on a fielder's choice with one out to put a runner on in the eighth inning.
Bridgett Morales then drove her in with a double to center.
Callie Yellin returned the favor with a single to center, scoring Morales and giving RSU a 4-2 lead.

The Vikings went down in order in the bottom half to seal the win.

Harley Culie (5-0) earned the win, working the final 2.2 shutout innings and scattering one hit with one strikeout.
Jade Sanders was solid in her 5.1-inning start, allowing two runs on five hits with five strikeouts. Grace Glanzer (3-3) took the loss.

The Hillcats will be back in action on Tuesday, March 4 as they finally return home to the RCB Bank Sports Complex to take on Ouachita Baptist in a non-conference doubleheader. First pitch is set for 2 p.m.
