Hillcat Preview: October 27 - November 2

CLAREMORE, Okla. – RSU's men's and women's golf teams are set to host the Tulsa Cup, while both soccer teams aim to secure their spots in the conference tournament, with three games remaining in the regular season.

T-TIME IN TULSA
The 2025 Tulsa Cup is here! Despite significant rainfall over the weekend, both courses are expected to play well with a light breeze over the two days.
 
Men's golf will tee off at Indian Springs Country Club in Broken Arrow at 8:15 a.m. on Monday and 9 a.m. on Tuesday. Kobsak Phisitbuntoon, Dylan Ros, Callum Brown, Tyler Collier and Aiden Deng will represent the Hillcats on the "A" team, while Maddox Bullen, Thomas Richardson, Bo Gentry, Ben Field II and Miguel Mora will compete on the "B" team.
 
On the women's side, RSU will compete at Forest Ridge Golf Club in Broken Arrow, also at 8:15 a.m. on Monday and 9 a.m. on Tuesday. Brianna Maddux, Lou Fourdan (the defending MIAA Golfer of the Week), Lauren Anderson, Milena Andres and Lara Foigel will participate on the "A" team, while Rylan Ashley, Clara Ledun, Elle Standlee Daniels and Brooklyn Worley will represent the Hillcats on the "B" team.

HOME SWEET HOME
After a 1-1 week on the road against Newman and No. 5 Fort Hays State, the 17th-ranked men's soccer team returns to Soldier Field for a rematch against Southern Nazarene at 7 p.m. Wednesday. RSU defeated SNU for the first time since 2021 in Bethany on Oct. 11, with goals from Hayden Parker, Alex Laing and Grayson Horsley.
 
The Hillcats are currently second in the conference standings behind Fort Hays State. With a record of 5-2-2 in league play, Rogers State has collected 17 points and looks to secure a spot in the GAC Tournament. The top four teams will compete in the tournament on Nov. 14-15 in Bethany, as Southern Nazarene University has secured hosting duties.

AN ADVENTURE THROUGH THE MIDWEST
The women's soccer team will return to action following a 1-1 week that included a 3-1 win over Newman and a 1-0 loss to Central Oklahoma. The team heads to Kearney, Nebraska, on Friday to take on the Lopers, followed by a match against the Tigers in Hays, Kansas, on Sunday. Both matches are scheduled to kick off at 2 p.m. Last season, the Hillcats lost to UNK 1-0 but defeated FHSU 2-1.
 
Rogers State (2-4-3 MIAA) is currently on the outside looking in for the conference race, just one point behind Northeastern State. The two teams will meet in the regular-season finale on Nov. 5. The top eight teams in the regular-season standings will earn a spot in the MIAA Championships on Nov. 9, with the top four hosting round one.
