ST. JOSEPH, Mo. — The No. 21 women's golf team jumped five spots after a strong second round to finish fifth at the Regional Preview with a score of 635 (+59) at the St. Joseph Country Club. RSU had the second-best round of any team, posting a total of 310 (+22) on Tuesday.
Southwest Oklahoma State took control of the team competition on day two, finishing with a two-round total of +40. Harding, who was tied for the lead after round one, finished second at +51, followed by Central Oklahoma at +52 and Arkansas-Fort Smith at +54.
Freshman
Lou Fourdan led the Hillcats with a career-high third-place finish, tying with Grace Hall from UCO. Fourdan jumped 12 spots from the opening round and recorded a final score of 152 (+8) after finishing +2 in the final round, which included three birdies.
Senior
Brianna Maddux finished second on the team in 17th place with a score of 158 (+14). Freshman
Lara Foigel, competing as an individual, placed 36th at +19. Junior
Lauren Anderson improved 34 positions to finish 42nd at +20, while sophomore
Milena Andres finished 58th at +22 and junior
Rylan Ashley placed 77th at +26.
The Hillcats will return to action next Monday and Tuesday to host the Tulsa Cup, held at The Club at Forest Ridge.
