PITTSBURG, Kan. – Rogers State women's basketball (7-9, 1-6 MIAA) fell 88-62 to No. 12 Pittsburg State (15-2, 7-0 MIAA) on the road Wednesday.

Ella Hafer led the Hillcats with 12 points to go with four rebounds, an assist and a block.
Alyza Aikins posted 11 points with three steals, two rebounds, and an assist.
Jaiana Wiggins was a force on defense as she scooped up seven rebounds and blocked six shots.

The Gorillas took control of the game early, starting on a 15-0 run in the first quarter. They would go on to finish the period up 28-8. The Hillcats began to find some success on offense, but unfortunately Pitt State did not slow down as they carried a 51-23 margin into the break.

The second was much closer as the Gorillas only outscored RSU 20-16 in the third quarter. After Pitt State took their largest lead of the game at 81-46 in the fourth quarter, the Hillcats went to work cutting into the deficit and actually outscored the Gorillas 23-17 in the period and won the second half 39-37, but unfortunately fell 88-62.

RSU will regroup and return to action on Saturday, Jan. 17 as they close out the four-game road trip in Joplin, Mo. against Missouri Southern. Tipoff is set for 1:30 p.m.
