Claremore, Okla. - The Hillcats fell to the Augustan Vikings 1-0, in an evenly fought match.
No goals were scored in the first half, with the Vikings outshooting the Hillcats 9-5.
Tiffany Brittan made four saves in the first half to help keep the score even going into the half.
Augustana scored the lone goal in the 60th minute of play. The Hillcats created several chances, but the best came in the 73rd minute when
Alix Tirado-Negrete had a penalty kick. The Vikings keeper denied the Tirado-Negrete of the goal making back-to-back saves.
Tirado-Negrete recorded five shots on goal and Brittan made seven saves. The Vikings took 15 shots, with the Hillcats tallying 12.
The Hillcats will return to the pitch Thursday, Sept. 12th at 4 p.m. when they host Ouachita Baptist at Soldier Field.
