OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. – Rogers State men's soccer (0-3-2) fell to No.8 UC Colorado Springs (4-0-1) in a 2-0 decision on Thursday.

The first half was mostly a tight defensive battle. The Cougars narrowly outshot the Hillcats 5-4 in the period, with the two sides drawing even with one shot on goal apiece. However, UCCS made their shot count as they broke the scoreless stalemate with a goal in the 44th minute.

In the second half, the Cougars began to apply pressure on RSU as they outshot them 10-3 in the period with four shots on goal compared to two. One of the Hillcats' best scoring chances came in the 56th minute as
Grayson Horsley fired in a shot that was saved by the UCCS keeper. The Cougars increased their lead to 2-0 in the 79th minute as they were successful with a penalty kick. The Hillcats made one last attempt to get on the board in the 85th minute as
Noah Preston-Watkins attempted a shot that was saved.

RSU will remain in Oklahoma City as they wrap up the road trip on Saturday, Sept. 21 with a match against No. 15 CSU Pueblo. Kickoff is set for 12 p.m. on the campus of Oklahoma Christian.
