SEARCY, Ark. – Rogers State women's soccer (1-3) came up short 1-0 on the road to Harding (1-2) on Saturday.

Marlou Frieling (1-1) made three saves while allowing the lone goal.

The first half was a defensive stalemate as neither team was able to find the back of the net in the opening 45 minutes. The Bison outshot the Hillcats 10-2, with RSU taking two shots on goal compared to Harding's one. RSU had an opportunity to score early in the 21st minute as
Alix Tirado-Negrete fired in a shot toward the top of the goal that was saved by the Bison keeper. Their other opportunity came in the 37th minute when
Jordyn Smith took a shot that was again saved.

In the second half, the Bison cranked up the defensive pressure even more as they refused to allow RSU a shot in the period. Harding broke the stalemate in the 60th minute with the match's only goal to secure the 1-0 win.

The Hillcats will continue their five-game road trip on Wednesday, Sept. 18 as they travel to Shawnee, Okla. to take on Oklahoma Baptist. Kickoff is set for 6 p.m.
