Hillcats Take Care Of Business Against Haskell

CLAREMORE, Okla. - Rogers State women's basketball (3-2) took care of business against Haskell (2-9) with a 79-46 win in an impressive offensive showing in the third quarter, as they scored 28 points on Saturday.

"I am proud of our girls getting a win against a gritty Haskell team," said Head Coach Heather Davis. "We defended well and got several girls a lot of playing time. Our game plan was to be aggressive, attack the basket and to rebound well. We did a great job all around and we're happy with another win."

The third quarter saw the Hillcats drop a season high for points scored in single quarter all season. The 79 points in the most in a single game by RSU this season. The hard-nosed Hillcat defense did not allow Haskell to make a single 3-pointer, as the Indians were 0-16 from downtown.

Ella Hafer led RSU with 13 points and was one rebound shy of a double-double, as she notched nine boards. Bailey Layman scored 12 points and added two steals. Emma Kay Martin and Cheyan McDaniel both scored 10 points. Alyza Aikins pulled down seven rebounds and dished out four assists.

The Hillcats scored 19 points in the first quarter and held Haskell to just eight points. They kept up the intensity in the second quarter with a 10-2 run to begin the final 10 minutes as RSU lead 38-17 at halftime.
