WARRENSBURG, Mo. – No. 8-seed Rogers State baseball (26-22) fell 7-1 against No. 1-seed Central Missouri (38-13) in game two of the MIAA Tournament First Round best-of-three series on Saturday.

After a scoreless first inning, the Mules jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the second. A RBI fielder's choice brought in the first run with a two RBI single up the middle scoring the other runs.

From there, the game devolved into a pitcher's duel with neither pitching staff allowing a run over the next three innings, scattering a combined three hits.

UCM added two runs in the sixth to go up 5-0. A RBI single to left and a fielder's choice plated the runs.

The Mules tacked on two more runs to increase their margin to 7-0 in the eighth inning. Two solo homers to left scored the runs.

The Hillcats scored a run in the top of the ninth to cut the deficit to 7-1 thanks to a sacrifice fly from
AJ Folds that scored
Gavin Mestas.
