CLAREMORE, Okla. – Rogers State men's soccer (11-5-2, 8-4 GAC/MIAA) came away with a 3-2 win over Fort Hays State (8-7-2, 7-3-2 GAC/MIAA) in a thrilling regular season finale on Saturday.

George Robinson earned his second hat trick of the season and his second this year against FHSU in the win.
Declan Viljoen (9-5) made eight saves while allowing two goals, with
Blake Classen making one save in the final five and half minutes.

The Hillcats went to work attacking the Tiger defense early in the first half. In the 11th minute,
George Robinson headed in his first goal of the day off a cross into the box from
Artur Carvalho to take an early 1-0 lead. FHSU actually edged out RSU in the period 6-5, with three shots on goal to two.

The second half saw a more even period from both side's offenses. The Tigers once again outshot the Hillcats 12-9 in the final 45 minutes with eight shots on target to two. However, the Hillcats made the most of their opportunities as Robinson found the back of the net in the 58th minute off a pass from
Luke Morgan to increase the lead to 2-0. The Tigers got on the board in the 60th minute to trim the deficit to 2-1. RSU answered back in the 69th minute as Robinson completed his hat trick with an assist from
Marcos Vasallo. FHSU pulled back within one score at 3-2 in the 84th minute. In the 89th minute,
Blake Classen made a game clinching save off a Tiger corner kick to secure the win for the Hillcats.

With the win, RSU earned the No. 2-seed in the GAC/MIAA Tournament in Bethany, Okla. on Friday, Nov. 10, and will turn around and face off against Fort Hays State again as they earned the No. 3-seed. Kickoff is set for 4 p.m.
