CLAREMORE, Okla. – Rogers State women's basketball (4-1) took care of business in an 89-37 romp over Ozark Christian (0-2) on Saturday.

Five Hillcats finished in double figures on the day.
Alayzha Knapp led the Hillcats with 16 points and finished just two rebounds shy of a double-double with eight boards along with three assists, two blocks and a steal.
Kylee Day added 15 points, three rebounds, two steals and a block.
Kaya Goldsby put up 13 points with five rebounds, five assists and two steals.
Alyza Aikins finished with 11 points, five rebounds, three assists and three steals.
Trinity Jackson contributed 10 points and six rebounds.

RSU came out of the gate a little flat footed as the Ambassador rushed out to a 8-5 lead to start the game in the first 90 seconds. However, the Hillcats immediately bounced back with a 12-1 run to claim a 15-9 lead with 4:43 left in the period. They closed out the quarter on a 12-5 run to carry a 29-14 advantage into the second quarter.

OCC kept fighting to open the final 10 minutes of the half as they were able to cut the deficit down to 31-22 thanks to an 8-2 run to open the quarter. The Hillcats responded by taking their largest lead of the half at 45-25 and took a 45-29 lead into the break.

In the second half, the RSU defense smothered the Ambassadors as they only allowed eight total points in the final 20 minutes, with OCC only shooting 16.0 percent (4-for-25) in the second half. Meanwhile, the Hillcats offense kept clicking as they shot 45.9 percent from the field (17-for-37) and an impressive 8-for-10 from the charity stripe to out score Ozark Christian 44-8 across the final two quarters to claim the 89-37 win.

RSU will look to carry the momentum of their three-game win streak into the beginning of MIAA play on Thursday, Nov. 30 as they play host to Nebraska-Kearney inside the Claremore Expo Center. Tipoff is set for 5:30 p.m.
