WICHITA, Kan. – Rogers State men's basketball (0-1) fell 82-58 to Minot State (1-0) in the MIAA/NSIC Regional Challenge to open the 2023-24 season on Saturday.

Two Hillcats finished in double figures.
Rodney Battle led all scorers with 18 points as well as one steal.
Kofi Hamilton added 11 points with four rebounds, two assists, one steal and one block.
Anthony Marshall Jr. contributed seven points with three rebounds, three assists and three steals.

RSU got off to a slow start as Minot State opened the game on a 14-2 run. They managed to find their footing and cut the deficit down to 19-12 with nine minutes left in the half thanks to a 10-5 run of their own. The Beavers answered with a 17-8 run to go back up 36-20, and eventually took a 38-25 lead into the break.

The second half saw more of the same with Minot State starting the period on a 15-6 run to go up 53-31. They eventually took their largest lead of the game at 73-42 and took an 82-58 win.

The Hillcats will need a short memory as they take on Concordia-St. Paul tomorrow. Tipoff is set for 2 p.m.
