CLAREMORE, Okla. – Rogers State women's soccer (7-9-2, 5-7 MIAA) concluded the regular season with a 2-1 win over rival Northeastern State (6-8-4, 4-7-1 MIAA) on a cold and wet Sunday afternoon.

Two Hillcats found their way onto the scoresheet with
Jada Lopez and Vanessa Gonalez scoring their first and second goals of the season, respectively.
Tiffany Brittan (6-9) made four saves while allowing one goal.

The first half saw both teams feel each other out in the early goings. The Hillcats broke the ice in the 26th minute as
Jada Lopez headed in the first goal of the match off a corner kick from
Amaris Jasso. Just 35 seconds later
Vanessa Gonzalez earned a penalty kick and fired a shot into the lower left corner of the net to give RSU a 2-0 lead. NSU actually outshot the Hillcats 6-5 in the period, with both sides taking two shots on goal.

The second half saw the defensive pressure from both sides continue. The RiverHawks again outshot RSU 5-1 in the period with three shots on goal. NSU got on the board in the 47th minute with a goal scored off a cross into the box and buried in the right corner of the net. However, the Hillcats were able keep the RiverHawks from equalizing and closed out their season with a 2-1 win.
