EMPORIA, Kan. – Rogers State women's soccer (4-4-2, 2-2 MIAA) fell 3-0 on the road to Emporia State (3-4-3, 2-1 MIAA) on Sunday.

Tiffiany Brittan (3-4) made five saves while allowing three goals.

The Hornets got off to a lightning-fast start as they scored the game's first goal 49 seconds into the match. They struck again in the 11th minute to go up 2-0. From there, things began to settle in as ESU outshot the Hillcats 11-4 in the period with seven shots on goal to two. In the 42nd minute, the Hornets added another goal to go up 3-0 headed into the break.

The second half saw RSU begin to pick up its offensive attack. The Hillcats managed to outshoot ESU 7-4 in the period with two shots on goal compared to one. RSU's best opportunities to score came early in the half as
Sarah Ovalle fired in a shot and forced the Hornet keeper to make a save in the 49th minute.
Liberty Doyle tried her shot in the 52nd minute driving a ball to the lower left corner of the goal that was also unfortunately saved.

The Hillcats will stay on the road on Friday, Oct. 6 as they travel to Warrensburg, Mo. to face off against Central Missouri. Kickoff is slated for 7 p.m.
