CLAREMORE, Okla. – Rogers State women's basketball (4-14, 2-10 MIAA) fell 87-47 to Pittsburg State (14-4, 9-3 MIAA) on Thursday.

Bailey Kliewer led the way for RSU with 12 points, three rebounds, an assist and a steal.
Chloe Martin added 11 points with three assists, a rebound and a steal.
Jordan Lewis put up nine points with three rebounds.
Trinity Jackson contributed nine rebounds, seven points, an assist, a block and a steal.

The Gorillas opened the game with a 6-0 run. The Hillcats battled to get the lead down to 10-6 responding with a 6-2 run. However, PSU closed out the quarter on a 14-6 run.

In the second quarter, the Hillcats began to find some success as they fought to trim the lead down to 12 points at 36-24 with under two minutes remaining in the half. Unfortunately, the Gorillas went on an 8-0 run to carry a 44-24 lead into the locker room.

The third quarter saw RSU play their best stretch of the game as they managed to outscore PSU 16-15 in the period. Coming out of the break, the Hillcats went to work and trimmed the deficit down to 16 points multiple times getting as close at 52-36 with 5:40 left in the quarter. But the Gorillas would push back out to 59-40 going into the final 10 minutes.

In the fourth quarter, the Hillcats ran out of gas as PSU asserted their will, outscoring the home team 28-7 in the period and eventually taking the 87-47 win.

RSU will be back in action on Saturday, Jan. 21 as they welcome Missouri Southern into the Expo Center. Tip off is set for 1:30 p.m.
